Kyushu tourism initiatives launched to support earthquake recovery

Fukuoka Prefecture has announced the ‘Kyushu Fukkou Ouen Wari Fukuoka Campaign,’ a tourism initiative starting October 1 to stimulate demand following the Kumamoto earthquake. The program offers a 50% subsidy on travel and accommodation costs within Fukuoka. For travelers participating in circuit-style trips that include stays in Kumamoto or Kagoshima prefectures, the discount increases to 60%.

Reservations for the campaign begin on September 24. Subsidies are subject to specific limits based on the type of travel package, ranging from 20,000 yen for single accommodations to 35,000 yen for multi-prefecture circuit trips. The discounts can be accessed directly through registered facilities, travel agencies, or major booking sites like Jalan and Rakuten Travel.

In support of regional recovery, ANA Group has launched a dedicated website, ‘To Kyushu, What We Can Do Now,’ to promote tourism and local products. The airline is expanding its ‘Tokutabi Mile’ mileage offers for Kyushu routes and has extended its youth fare sale through December 25. Additionally, ANA is offering charity products through its official e-commerce site, with a portion of proceeds donated to Kumamoto earthquake reconstruction efforts.
