Kyushu tourism recovery program offers up to 60% travel discounts
Travel booking site Good Trip Express has launched the ‘Kyushu Fukkou Ouen Wari’ (Kyushu Recovery Support Discount) lottery, aimed at stimulating tourism following the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake. The initiative offers significant discounts on travel packages involving accommodation in Fukuoka, Nagasaki, and Kumamoto.
Discount rates vary by prefecture: Kumamoto offers up to 60% off for stays through December 25, 2026, while Fukuoka and Nagasaki offer up to 50% off for stays through mid-to-late December 2026. The lottery application period runs from October 6 to October 8, 2026.
Specific travel products, such as the ‘Amakusa Full Enjoyment Trip’ in Kumamoto, are included in the support program. This package features a 60% discount (up to 20,000 yen per person per night) for a two-day itinerary involving the Amakusa Treasure Island Line ferry, dolphin watching, and seaside glamping.
