L3Harris begins modernization of Moroccan C-130 aircraft

L3Harris Technologies has completed inspections on the first C-130 Hercules aircraft belonging to the Royal Moroccan Air Force at its facility in Waco, Texas. This marks the transition of a multi-year modernization program from the planning phase to active execution.

The initial work on the first aircraft includes structural repairs, maintenance, the installation of a new backup instrument system, and the integration of a digital engine parameter display. Following this, a second aircraft is scheduled to arrive this autumn, with a third aircraft expected later in 2026.

The third aircraft in the program will undergo a more extensive upgrade, featuring a complete avionics overhaul and a fully digital cockpit. The broader agreement, signed in July 2025, covers heavy maintenance, engine overhauls, and logistical support through 2029, aimed at extending the operational lifespan and readiness of Morocco's military transport fleet.
