La Bella Luz director faces allegations of inappropriate touching

Legal representatives for César Sánchez Chavesta, the former musical director of the Peruvian cumbia orchestra La Bella Luz, are demanding a full review of video evidence regarding allegations of inappropriate touching made by singer Naldy Saldaña. The defense argues that only a fragment of the rehearsal footage has been presented and that the entire recording must be analyzed to understand the full context of the incident.

Sánchez Chavesta remains in Lima and is complying with legal proceedings. His lawyer expressed hope for his reinstatement should the investigation find him innocent.

In a separate interview, Naldy Saldaña expressed her desire for the members of La Bella Luz to continue their musical careers despite the controversy. However, she noted that she would like to eventually ask the group why they did not take action when she initially requested assistance regarding the incident.
