La Bisbal del Penedès doubles selective waste collection rate

Selective waste collection in La Bisbal del Penedès more than doubled during the first half of 2026, reaching 41.03% compared to 18.33% during the same period in the previous year. This significant increase follows the expansion of the door-to-door collection system to the municipality's urbanizations, which began on February 16.

Growth was observed across all waste fractions. Organic waste collection rose from 4.9% to 13.9%, paper and cardboard increased from 5.5% to 10.2%, packaging rose from 4.8% to 9.3%, and glass increased from 3.1% to 7.7%. Consequently, the residual waste fraction dropped from 81.7% to 59%.
