Roman Reigns discusses WWE future and potential retirement
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns has addressed his professional future, indicating he may be entering the final stages of his career. In recent interviews, Reigns suggested he could continue performing at an elite level for approximately three more years, noting a desire to eventually prioritize time with his family.
Reigns expressed a commitment to finishing existing storylines, mentioning a need to address “loose ends” and “logic gaps” in his narrative arc. He observed that as the next generation of superstars matures, their rising stardom will create new “fantasy warfare” opportunities for him. He also noted that if he maintains his physical condition, he could potentially embark on another significant run in the future.
Regarding the industry, Reigns stated that Cody Rhodes is the only current performer who has proven he can “carry the banner” for the company, a responsibility he compared to the long-term consistency required by stars like John Cena and himself. He also remarked that competing against him increases a wrestler’s value, provided they possess a unique connection with the audience.
Outside of the ring, Reigns is expanding into Hollywood, portraying the character Akuma in the upcoming live-action Street Fighter movie. In the ring, his immediate focus remains on his championship reign, with a scheduled title defense against LA Knight at Money in the Bank in New Orleans.
