Extremadura demands infrastructure timelines from Spanish Ministry
The regional government of Extremadura has formally requested a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, to secure concrete timelines for critical infrastructure projects.
Francisco José Ramírez, the regional Minister of Infrastructure, Transport, and Housing, sent a letter seeking specific execution calendars, financing details, and deadlines for several key developments. These include the AVE high-speed rail connection, various highways, connections with Portugal, and the Badajoz airport.
The regional executive emphasized that the request aims to move beyond general commitments toward actionable schedules, noting that these projects are essential for the economic, industrial, and logistical development of the more than one million residents in Extremadura.
