La Pampa joins Latin American Environmental Front

The Argentine province of La Pampa has become a founding member of the Latin American Environmental Front (FAL). The agreement was signed during the Latin American Environmental Agenda 2026 in La Plata by Vanina Basso, the Secretary of Environment and Climate Change.

The FAL is a regional cooperation space comprising ten subnational governments from Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador, Buenos Aires, and La Pampa. The initiative aims to coordinate public policies, strengthen institutional capacities, and develop shared responses to the climate crisis.

The agreement is guided by principles such as environmental and social justice, the precautionary principle, prevention, and a just transition. It also emphasizes citizen participation, gender equality, and respect for the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities.
