La Pampa regional cooperation initiatives
Overview
The Argentine province of La Pampa has engaged in new regional cooperation agreements. In late October 2026, the province became a founding member of the Latin American Environmental Front (FAL). This regional initiative includes ten subnational governments from countries such as Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia, and Ecuador. The FAL aims to coordinate public policies and develop shared responses to the climate crisis through principles like environmental justice and the precautionary principle.
In early November 2026, the provincial government also joined the Network of Cooperative and Mutual Municipalities. Led by Governor Sergio Ziliotto, this partnership focuses on collaboration between the state and social economy organizations to promote local development, employment, and essential services. Through this network, La Pampa joins other Argentine provinces, including Córdoba, Santa Fe, La Rioja, and Santa Cruz.
