La Plata implements environmental recycling and social welfare programs

The Municipality of La Plata has collected over 71,000 liters of used vegetable oil as part of an environmental program designed to promote proper disposal and reduce ecological impact. The recovered material is transported to a plant in San Miguel to be recycled into biofuel. This initiative involves local residents and gastronomic establishments, helping to prevent soil and water contamination.

Additionally, the municipal administration under Mayor Julio Alak has launched a weekly agenda of community activities. These programs focus on social care, the prevention of violence, and access to rights. Scheduled events include animal welfare initiatives for children and gender-based violence awareness workshops to strengthen community networks and provide resources for those in need.
