La Rioja tourism occupancy peaks at 80% while Granada room profits fall
In Argentina's La Rioja province, hotel occupancy reached peaks of up to 80% at key destinations such as Chilecito and Villa Unión during the first week of winter holidays, marking a 12% increase over the same period last year. The regional government's Previaje Riojano with Chachos program has further boosted visitor spending.
Conversely, Spain's Granada province reported a decline in average revenue per hotel room, down 3.5% to €77.9 compared with the previous year, as part of a broader drop in tourism profitability across the region. The downturn follows reduced earnings in the Costa Tropical and logistical issues linked to a railway accident in nearby Adamuz.
