Hanoi to launch 16 infrastructure projects for National Day
Hanoi is scheduled to inaugurate and commence 16 major infrastructure projects to mark National Day on September 2. The initiative includes the technical opening of the Ring Road 1 (Hoang Cau - Voi Phuc section) and a group of 10 urgent public investment projects focused on flood control and drainage.
The flood mitigation projects, with a total investment of approximately 5,600 billion VND, target flood-prone areas such as To Lich - Ta Nhue, Thang Long Boulevard, Tay Ho Tay, and various regulating lakes including Dong Bong 2 and Yen Nghia. These works aim to increase water storage and drainage capacity to reduce flooding depth and duration during heavy rains.
Additionally, the city plans to break ground on five significant projects, including the Ring Road 3.5 (Phuc La - Van Phu to Phap Van - Cau Gie section) and two national railway projects: the existing Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City line (Phu Xuyen - Ngoc Hoi section) and the Eastern Ring Railway (Ngoc Hoi - Kim Son section).
