La Séptima prepares for TDT launch amid technical shifts

The new digital terrestrial television (TDT) channel, La Séptima, is preparing for its official launch on November 5. Driven by José Miguel Contreras, the project has recently confirmed journalist Noor Ben Yessef as a key presenter for its prime-time daily news magazine. Other confirmed figures include editorial director Javier Ruiz.

Social media reactions to the new channel have been largely critical, with some users using derogatory nicknames to express disapproval of the project's lineup and management.

In preparation for the launch and the introduction of UHD broadcasts, technical adjustments are underway across Spain. In Galicia, the Xunta has begun frequency distribution changes at several coverage centers, such as Arca and Ponte Ulla. Residents in certain areas, including A Estrada, may need to resintonize their televisions to maintain access to channels due to these frequency shifts.
