La Séptima television channel to launch in Spain on November 5

The new digital terrestrial television (TDT) channel ‘La Séptima’ is scheduled to launch on November 5. During a presentation at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, CEO José Miguel Contreras stated that the channel aims to achieve an audience share of 2.5% to 3% to ensure profitability. Contreras expressed confidence in exceeding the initial performance of ‘laSexta’, targeting a debut audience share of between 1% and 1.5%.

The launch timing may coincide with potential early elections, which the leadership believes could drive significant impact. The channel is also leveraging a social media presence that already includes 160,000 Instagram followers to build notoriety.

Reports indicate that the investment is linked to Argentine businessman Manzano, who operates through his private investment firm, Integra Capital. Manzano, associated with Grupo América and Telefé in Argentina, is viewed as using ‘La Séptima’ as a strategic entry point into the Spanish audiovisual and media market.
