La Séptima television network to launch in Spain on November 5

The new Spanish television network, La Séptima, is scheduled to begin broadcasting on November 5. Led by CEO José Miguel Contreras, the project aims to establish a community-driven brand focused on live programming, news, political analysis, and entertainment. The network will operate from studios in San Sebastián de los Reyes and utilizes a multi-use studio model designed for rapid response to breaking news.

La Séptima was granted a TDT license by the Spanish government following a competitive process. The company, Servicios Integrados de Entretenimiento Televisivo (SIETE), is backed by shareholders including Andrés Varela Entrecanales (65%), Argentine businessman José Luis Manzano (25%), and José Miguel Contreras (10%).

The launch timeline has been accelerated due to upcoming general elections scheduled for November 29. Key personnel joining the network include director Javier Ruiz, Verónica Sanz, Sarah Santaolalla, and Héctor de Miguel. The network intends to differentiate itself from global streaming platforms by focusing on local engagement and live content.
