La Séptima TV channel rules out María Patiño, hints at possible Sálvame presenters

Spain’s new general‑interest television channel La Séptima is set to launch on 5 November after receiving its licence earlier this year. The project is led by former La Sexta chief José Miguel Contreras, with former TVE anchor Javier Ruiz appointed as director and one of the channel’s on‑air faces.

In response to questions on its official X account, La Séptima said it will not feature a traditional “heart‑talk” programme but will comment on current topics when they have news value. The channel explicitly denied hiring María Patiño, replying “No. But don’t kill me. Not for now,” and also rejected rumours that Jorge Javier Vázquez would join, stating “He is not coming.” However, it left open the possibility of bringing in personalities from Telecinco’s “Sálvame” programme, answering a user’s query with a brief “It could be.”
