LA28 aims to elevate the Paralympic movement in 2028
Organizers of the LA28 Games aim to elevate the Paralympic movement during the 2028 event, which is scheduled to open at SoFi Stadium on August 15, 2028. International Paralympic Committee president Andrew Parsons stated that the Games have the potential to place the movement in a “higher position as a sport movement.”
This ambition follows the success of the 2024 Paris Paralympics, which saw record-breaking engagement with 2.5 million tickets sold and a significant increase in global broadcast hours. Organizers in Los Angeles intend to build on this momentum to shift public perception regarding the capabilities of athletes with disabilities.
