Labor disputes rise in Iran over unpaid wages and benefits

Various sectors in Iran are reporting significant delays and failures in wage and benefit payments. In Dezful, nurses have reportedly gone six months without performance bonuses and three months without overtime pay. Officials noted that these financial difficulties have led to professional migration and workers leaving the field for other occupations.

In Tehran, drivers and workers for the Tehran Bus Company are facing unpaid insurance claims. Despite deductions from their salaries for supplemental medical insurance, funds have reportedly not been transferred to the insurance provider, resulting in the loss of medical coverage for employees and their families.

Additionally, employees at the Mahshahr Petrochemical Research and Technology Company have protested the non-payment of overtime, loans, livelihood subsidies, and other incentive payments. Workers attributed these unpaid benefits to cost-cutting measures implemented under new management.
