Ladakh Lieutenant Governor meets village leaders and unveils cultural book

Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Vinay Kumar Saxena held a meeting with approximately 200 Nambardars to strengthen grassroots governance and coordination between the administration and local communities. During the interaction, Nambardars raised concerns regarding acute water shortages in several villages, which the Lieutenant Governor promised to address as a priority. The meeting also highlighted an increase in the monthly honorarium for Nambardars from ₹1,500 to ₹5,000.

In a separate event in Leh, Saxena unveiled the book ‘Sacred Art of Ladakh: Fading Treasures’ by author Shrikant Somani. The book documents the Buddhist art, architecture, and spiritual traditions of the region, aiming to preserve Ladakh’s cultural and religious heritage.
