Ladik launches new school protocol to combat peer bullying

The Ladik District Directorate of National Education has launched a four-day training program to develop the ‘Ladik Model School Climate Protocol.’ Supported by the Middle Black Sea Development Agency (OKA), the project aims to enhance capacities for preventing and intervening in peer bullying.

Fifty educators, including school principals, guidance counselors, and teachers from various levels ranging from preschool to high school, are participating in the program. The curriculum covers the conceptual framework of bullying, cyberbullying, legal frameworks, coping strategies, and intervention techniques. Participants will also study international and national models such as Olweus, KiVa, and the Ministry of National Education (MEB) models.

A key component of the initiative is a workshop designed to establish the official components of the Ladik Model, which will include standardized reporting and intervention steps. Upon completion, the participants are intended to serve as ‘Model Trainers’ to disseminate these methods to other educators throughout the district, creating a sustainable school climate model.
