Ladik school bullying prevention initiative

Overview

In the Ladik district of Samsun, Turkey, the District Directorate of National Education initiated a project to combat peer bullying through the development of the ‘Ladik Model School Climate Protocol’. Supported by the Middle Black Sea Development Agency (OKA), the program began with a four-day training session for 50 educators, including principals, teachers, and guidance counselors.

The training, held from September 7 to 10, 2026, covered physical, verbal, social, and cyberbullying, utilizing international frameworks such as Olweus and KiVa. Participants were trained in early detection, risk analysis, and intervention techniques to serve as ‘Model Trainers’ for the district.

Following the completion of this initial training phase, the project moves into a second phase focused on drafting the official protocol. This upcoming stage aims to establish a standardized reporting system and systematic intervention mechanisms across all district schools to ensure a sustainable school climate.
