Ladik teachers complete training to combat peer bullying

A project aimed at preventing and intervening in peer bullying has been completed in the Ladik district of Samsun, Turkey. Supported by the Middle Black Sea Development Agency (OKA) under its Social Development and Entrepreneurship Technical Support Program, the initiative trained 50 teachers—comprising 29 women and 21 men—to serve as model instructors.

The training program, held between September 7 and 10, 2026, addressed various forms of bullying, including physical, verbal, social, and cyberbullying. Participants engaged in workshops focused on early detection methods, risk factor analysis, effective intervention techniques, and case evaluation skills through age-specific scenarios.

This workshop represents the first stage of a three-phase model designed to create a systematic and sustainable institutional intervention mechanism. The second phase will involve drafting the ‘Ladik Model School Climate Protocol.’ This protocol aims to standardize intervention steps, establish a common reporting system for bullying cases across all district schools, and create processes for monitoring cases.
