Ladispoli: Thieves steal 80,000 euros worth of collectible cards
Two masked thieves targeted the ‘Nena Store’ in Ladispoli, Italy, stealing rare Pokémon and One Piece collectible cards. The total damage is estimated at over 80,000 euros, which includes the value of the stolen merchandise, destroyed display cases, and structural damage to the storefront such as broken locks and a forced entrance.
While the stolen cards have a purchase cost of approximately 51,000 euros, their commercial value is estimated to be near 78,000 euros. The shop owners, Serena and Giuseppe, reported that the store's smoke security system failed to prevent the theft. In response to the incident, the owners have begun sleeping in the shop to protect remaining stock and have launched a 50,000-euro fundraising campaign to restock inventory and upgrade security.
Local police are investigating the theft, which was captured on surveillance cameras. The incident has sparked a wave of community solidarity online and increased tension among local merchants following a similar major theft in the area recently.
