Lagkada municipality wins €3.5 million for drinking‑water projects

The municipal government of Lagkada in Greece obtained €3.5 million in funding from the Ministry of Environment and Energy to address long‑standing water‑supply problems in the villages of Kolchiko, Drakontio and Anapltisi. The allocation was signed by Minister Stavros Papastavrou at a ceremony attended by Mayor Niki Andreadou and will fund the construction of three new pipelines, enabling safe drinking water for roughly 4,000 inhabitants.

The project is part of the ministry’s “Interventions for Drinking‑Water Supply and Water Management” sub‑program within the broader Regional Development Plan. It joins six other initiatives approved for Central Macedonia and Epirus, contributing to a national investment of more than €41 million across 33 water‑infrastructure projects in 25 municipalities.
