Rio de Janeiro begins construction of Campo Grande Intermodal Terminal

The Rio de Janeiro municipal government has launched construction on the new Campo Grande Intermodal Terminal in the West Zone. The project, representing an investment of R$ 71.3 million, aims to integrate municipal buses, intercity lines, and the BRT system. The facility will cover 22,200 square meters and is expected to be completed within two years. Once operational, the terminal will host 33 lines, including 21 municipal lines and 12 intercity lines serving regions such as Itaguaí, Seropédica, and Duque de Caxias.

In addition to the transport hub, the city has announced R$ 34 million in infrastructure works to combat flooding in central Campo Grande. Managed by Fundação Rio-Águas, these works include reinforcing drainage networks across 16 streets and implementing new paving and sidewalk improvements to enhance local mobility and safety.
