Lagor, France: 90-year-old kills two neighbors in shooting

A 90-year-old man has been taken into custody following a double homicide in the village of Lagor, located in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department of southwestern France. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening around 8:00 PM.

The suspect allegedly used a shotgun to kill two neighbors, an 85-year-old man and his 82-year-old wife. According to reports, the shooting was triggered after the 90-year-old man received a stone thrown by one of the victims. The two families had reportedly been involved in a long-standing property and neighborhood dispute lasting approximately ten years.

The victims died at the scene. Neighbors who heard the gunshots alerted the authorities, and gendarmes arrived to arrest the suspect, who did not resist. The Pau prosecutor's office has confirmed the suspect is in custody for the murder of two people. The investigation has been assigned to the Orthez research brigade.
