Lagos State Governor appoints new LASU Vice-Chancellor

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the appointment of Professor Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo as the new Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU). The announcement was made by the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.

Professor Badejo, a specialist in Guidance and Counselling, holds both a PhD and a Master of Education in the field from the University of Lagos. She succeeds Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, whose five-year term has concluded. During her tenure, which began in September 2021, Olatunji-Bello reported that the university’s internally generated revenue grew from ₦3bn to ₦13bn and achieved a 96 per cent success rate in its first-year accreditation exercise, with 31 of 37 programmes receiving full accreditation.
