Lake Balaton offers family-friendly cycling routes

Family-friendly cycling routes are available near Lake Balaton, designed to be accessible for children and enthusiasts alike. One notable route follows the heritage of the Festetics family in Keszthely and Gyenesdiás.

This approximately 14-kilometer loop primarily utilizes high-quality asphalt paths and designated cycling routes, with some sections on forest dirt roads. The tour begins at the Festetics Palace and passes through the Festetics Imre Experience Center, Nagymező, and a former quarry. To ensure safety, cyclists are advised to walk their bikes through an 80-meter steep section near the quarry.

Participants can collect Kajla stamps at various points, including the Festetics Palace and the BalatonBike365 Port cycling center, to make the excursion an adventure for younger travelers. The area offers various attractions such as panoramic views from the Festetics lookout and opportunities to interact with animals at the experience center.
