Lake Neusiedl fire destroys 200 boathouses amid regional accidents

Several significant incidents occurred in Hungary and at Lake Neusiedl. In Austria, a massive fire broke out at the Ruster Bucht on Lake Neusiedl, destroying approximately 200 boathouses and nearly the same number of electric boats and vessels. About 300 firefighters responded to the blaze, which was complicated by shifting winds but prevented from spreading to protected reed beds and nearby residential areas.

In Hungary, a passenger train incident was reported in Mélykút, Bács-Kiskun county, involving 22 passengers. Emergency services and volunteer firefighters assisted in the safe evacuation of travelers. Additionally, multiple traffic incidents occurred on the M5 motorway near Kecskemét, including a three-vehicle collision involving two cars and a van, and a separate incident where a passenger car caught fire.
