Lamine Camara moves on after collapsed Chelsea transfer

Lamine Camara has stated he has ‘turned the page’ following the collapse of his transfer from AS Monaco to Chelsea on the summer deadline day. Although a deal worth approximately £47.2 million (roughly €55 million) had reportedly been agreed upon between the clubs, Monaco withdrew from the agreement at the last minute.

The reversal occurred as Monaco renegotiated the sale of Folarin Balogun to Everton. Sources at Chelsea described the sudden withdrawal as ‘deeply unprofessional,’ noting that the club believed a full, written agreement had been reached for the 22-year-old Senegal international on a six-year contract.

Following the failed move, Monaco has increased the valuation of the midfielder, with reports suggesting the club now seeks closer to €70 million. Camara, who has performed strongly in the early stages of the Ligue 1 season, remains at Monaco under a contract running until 2029.
