Lamine Camara rejected Chelsea move following Denis Zakaria's advice

Former Chelsea midfielder Denis Zakaria has revealed that he encouraged Lamine Camara to reject a summer transfer to Chelsea. Camara, a 22-year-old Senegal international, had emerged as a priority target for Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso to bolster the midfield following the club's record-breaking £117 million signing of Morgan Rogers.

While Chelsea and Monaco had reportedly reached an agreement for the player, the deal collapsed at the last minute when the French club withdrew. Zakaria, currently a teammate of Camara at Monaco, stated that he advised the player that staying at Monaco was the better option.

Camara has since remained a key figure for Monaco, appearing in their opening league matches and Europa Conference League fixtures. Despite the failed move, Camara expressed that he still maintains ambitions to play in the Premier League in the future.
