Lamine Camara targeted by Liverpool and Chelsea

Liverpool and Chelsea are reportedly competing for the services of AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara. Following a failed attempt by Chelsea to secure the 22-year-old during the final hours of the recent transfer window, Liverpool has entered discussions with the player's representatives.

Chelsea's pursuit of Camara was motivated by the departure of Enzo Fernandez to Manchester City. Although a verbal agreement was reportedly in place for a deal worth approximately 55 million euros, Monaco ultimately decided to retain the Senegalese international. Camara is currently under contract with the French club until June 2029.

Liverpool views Camara as a key target to strengthen their midfield, potentially as a successor should Alexis Mac Allister depart. While a battle between the two Premier League clubs is expected to intensify, negotiations with Monaco have not yet been officially announced.
