West Java DPRD targets November completion for regional organization restructuring

The West Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Special Committee XX is working toward a target completion date of November 5, 2026, for a draft regional regulation regarding the formation and structure of regional apparatus organizations (OPD).

A primary objective of this restructuring is to increase organizational efficiency by merging 14 existing regional organizations into seven. The committee has held consultations with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Jakarta Provincial Government to ensure legal compliance and functional alignment.

While technical requirements for merging certain departments, such as Bappeda and BP2D, generally meet government regulations, the committee is still refining details regarding job descriptions, work positions, and workload analysis. Additionally, the committee is studying the potential formation of a new Asset Management Body and Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) to prevent overlapping authorities.
