West Java regional administration and infrastructure updates

The West Java provincial government is pursuing several administrative and developmental initiatives. In mid October 2026, the West Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) Special Committee XX set a target of November 5, 2026, to complete a draft regulation for restructuring regional apparatus organizations (OPD). This plan aims to increase efficiency by merging 14 existing organizations into seven, while also considering the formation of a new Asset Management Body to prevent overlapping authorities.

By late October 2026, the provincial government expanded its focus to digital services and physical infrastructure. The West Java DPRD Secretariat launched a Digital Dashboard for Public Information Services, which reported a 99.1 percent completion rate for public information requests by November 1. Concurrently, the government is working to reconstruct nearly 150 kilometers of roads and repair 47 bridges by the end of the year. Environmental efforts have also been noted, including waste clearance collaborations on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road and calls for improved household waste management in Depok.
