Land Rover recalls nearly 94,000 Range Rovers over camera defect
Jaguar Land Rover is recalling 93,997 Range Rover vehicles in the United States and Canada due to a faulty tailgate drainage system. The defect allows water to pool near the tailgate, leading to water ingress that can damage the rearview camera. This malfunction may cause image distortion or complete display failure, potentially obscuring pedestrians or obstacles and increasing crash risks.
The recall affects certain 2022–2026 Range Rover models manufactured between July 8, 2021, and June 4, 2024. Internal data indicates that approximately 2.4 percent of the affected fleet, or 2,295 reported cases, have experienced related issues since August 2022.
To resolve the issue, dealers will modify the tailgate trim by drilling additional drainage holes to prevent moisture accumulation. Technicians will also inspect the rearview cameras; any malfunctioning units will be replaced free of charge. Owners will receive interim notification letters starting December 11, 2026, with follow-up correspondence once permanent remedy parts are available.
