Lando Norris criticises McLaren performance after Silverstone fourth place
British driver Lando Norris finished fourth at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone and used the post‑race interview to openly criticise McLaren. He said the car was “one of the most difficult I’ve ever driven” and that its pace was “quite poor”, despite a reliable finish. Norris also highlighted a pointed radio message during the sprint race – “Great job, but guys, let’s do things properly for once, please!” – as evidence of the team’s operational shortcomings.
Norris, the 2026 world champion, noted that McLaren’s performance has lagged behind rivals, with only two podiums from nine races and a fifth‑place standing, 82 points behind leader Kimi Antonelli. He called for rapid improvements across the team to restore championship‑contending form.
