Lando Norris slams McLaren's pace after disappointing British Grand Prix qualifying
Lando Norris qualified sixth for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and described the McLaren MCL40 as "just slow". He said the car lacked down‑force, suffered excessive drag and struggled for grip in high‑speed corners, putting the team far behind Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes.
Despite finishing third in the sprint race, Norris voiced frustration on team radio, urging McLaren to "get it right for once" and stressing that simple, recurring issues were limiting their performance and podium chances. He added that the car was "one of the hardest he's ever driven" and emphasized the need for substantial upgrades before the main race.
Norris admitted the sprint result was helped by a good start, but stressed that without fundamental improvements the team cannot compete at Silverstone, their home venue, and warned that missing progress could jeopardise their season ambitions.
