Puebla Governor Deploys Machinery and Aid After Eloxochitlán Landslide
Heavy rains in the Sierra Negra triggered a landslide that blocked the Eloxochitlán‑Tlacotepec road near El Crucero in the municipality of Eloxochitlán, Puebla. Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier ordered the state Secretariat of Infrastructure to send heavy‑machinery and Civil Protection brigades to clear the road and reopen secondary routes to isolated communities. The State System for Integral Family Development (SEDIF) distributed food baskets and blankets to about 200 affected families and began a census of household damage to target further assistance.
In the state capital, authorities announced inspections of commercial premises in the historic centre that were damaged by the same rains. The governor highlighted that newly acquired equipment allowed rapid removal of debris and road reopening without waiting for an emergency declaration.
