Langley and Chilliwack candidates present platforms for local elections

Local elections are approaching in several British Columbia municipalities, with candidates presenting their platforms for various civic roles.

In Langley Township, the mayoral race features two primary candidates. Jay Lundgren, a business executive, is campaigning on a platform of responsible financial leadership and restoring respect for residents and businesses. The incumbent Mayor, Eric Woodward, is seeking re-election to continue current infrastructure and facility projects.

In Chilliwack, 19 candidates are vying for seats on the city council. Candidates have addressed priorities such as maintaining the city’s debt-free approach to facility construction and fostering collaborative relationships with the provincial government. Specific interests include developing facilities for the growing senior population and encouraging innovative urban development.
