Lanka Premier League 2026 hosts pink breast‑cancer match and secures India streaming deal
On 19 July 2026 the Lanka Premier League staged a pink‑themed match at Colombo's SSC Grounds, with the Dambulla Sixers playing the Jaffna Kings. The event was part of a national breast‑cancer awareness campaign, promoting the "Touch‑Look‑Check" message and supporting the Indira Cancer Trust. The initiative involved the Ministry of Health, the National Cancer Control Programme and local charities, and highlighted early detection for women across Sri Lanka.
Ahead of the tournament, which runs from 17 July to 8 August, the league announced a new digital partnership with FanCode to broadcast all matches in India. Organised by Sri Lanka Cricket and owned by Innovative Production Group, the deal aims to expand the LPL’s reach to Indian fans, with the platform promising a premium, interactive viewing experience. The 2026 edition will feature five franchises, thirty‑two overseas players and a double‑round‑robin format before playoffs.
