Overview

The sixth edition of the Lanka Premier League ran from 17 July to 8 August 2026. Final group fixtures on 1‑2 August saw Colombo Kaps take on already‑qualified Galle Gallants and Jaffna Kings face bottom‑placed Dambulla Sixers, both matches televised on Star Sports 3 and streamed via FanCode.

The knockout phase began with an Eliminator, where Colombo Kaps secured a 68-run victory over the Kandy Royals. This was followed by Qualifier 1, in which the Jaffna Kings defeated the Galle Gallants, highlighted by a 108-run performance from Kamil Mishara.

On 7 August, the Galle Gallants advanced to the championship match by defeating Colombo Kaps in Qualifier 2 at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium. The tournament concluded on 8 August with a final between the Jaffna Kings and the Galle Gallants at the same venue. The Jaffna Kings entered the final seeking their fifth title, having won all four of their previous final appearances, while the Gallants sought to break a streak of losing their three previous finals to the Kings.
