Lanka Premier League Season 6 to be broadcast on Star Sports from July 17
Sri Lanka’s franchise T20 competition, the Lanka Premier League (LPL), will hold its sixth season from July 17 to August 8, 2026. The tournament will be aired live on Star Sports, extending its reach to Indian viewers and other markets.
The season features 62 Sri Lankan players and 32 overseas stars, with more than 650 registrations from 21 countries, reflecting growing international interest. Notable participants include Moeen Ali, Shakib Al Hasan, Jimmy Neesham, and the Indian all‑rounder Vijay Shankar, who will make his LPL debut.
Organised by Sri Lanka Cricket and commercially managed by Innovative Production Group (IPG), the league’s founder and CEO Anil Mohan Sankhdhar said, “The Lanka Premier League continues to strengthen its position within the global cricket ecosystem…record interest shown by players…reflects the growing appeal of the league among both players and fans worldwide.” Tournament director Samantha Dodanwela added, “Season 6 represents another exciting milestone…the quality and diversity of players…show the growing strength of the tournament.”
The expanded broadcast partnership and the strong overseas player pool aim to provide Sri Lankan talent with high‑performance exposure while delivering a world‑class experience for fans across markets.
