Lanús Mayor inaugurates new mobile health unit

The Mayor of Lanús, Julián Álvarez, has launched a new mobile health unit, the ‘Colectivo Sanitario’, to provide medical services directly to various neighborhoods within the district.

The mobile unit is designed to improve access to healthcare by bringing services closer to residents, reducing the need for travel to central medical facilities. The vehicle features two specialized consultation areas: one dedicated to dental care—including check-ups, restorations, and extractions—and another for general health, ophthalmology, nutrition, HIV and syphilis testing, and sexual health services.

In addition to specialized consultations, the mobile unit provides general medicine, vaccinations according to the National Calendar, rabies vaccinations, and vital sign monitoring. The initiative aims to facilitate early detection of health risks and strengthen the connection between local neighborhoods and the broader health service network.
