Lanús municipal security expansion
Overview
The Lanús government has inaugurated a new monitoring center at Parque Central Las Colonias as part of its Integral Citizen Security Plan. Operating 24/7, the facility utilizes a video wall for real-time supervision of 31 cameras in the park, along with additional cameras at local secondary schools.
The security initiative includes the installation of five security totems, alarm systems for schools, and the construction of two illuminated safe paths supported by municipal patrols. Under Mayor Julián Álvarez, the city has expanded its security presence by tripling patrols through the acquisition of 147 vehicles and 38 motorcycles, hiring over 450 agents, and launching a municipal police school. Other measures include the installation of over 470 neighborhood alarms and a ‘Digital Ring’ featuring more than 40 license plate recognition cameras.
