Lanzarote launches donation campaign for Gambia

A solidarity campaign has been launched in Lanzarote to collect items for donation to families in Gambia. Until October 7, the Comunidad Terapéutica de Zonzamas will serve as a collection point for various goods, including clothing, glasses, and bicycles.

Organized with the NGO Starup Corazón Solidario, the initiative aims to repurpose materials that would otherwise be discarded. Even damaged clothing can be reused in Gambia to manufacture products such as cloth diapers. Bicycles are considered a high priority, as they can assist children in traveling long distances to school.

Participants currently undergoing treatment at the Zonzamas Therapeutic Community will assist in receiving and organizing the donations. All materials will be coordinated with Gambian authorities and social services to ensure they meet actual local needs.
