Lanzarote sends 30 tons of humanitarian aid to Venezuela

Approximately 30 tons of humanitarian aid collected in Lanzarote are being shipped to Venezuela to assist populations affected by earthquakes that occurred in June. The shipment, which includes medical supplies, non-perishable food, hygiene products, clothing, and mattresses, was organized through a collaborative effort involving the Cabildo de Lanzarote, the Lanzarote and La Graciosa Security and Emergency Consortium, the Unión Canario-Venezolana, and the Venezolanos Unidos sociocultural association.

The Cabildo de Lanzarote has assumed responsibility for the international maritime logistics to ensure the cargo reaches its destination. Once in Venezuela, the aid will be distributed through a network of approximately 60 local institutions to ensure it reaches those in need, with a specific focus on supplies for children. The initiative highlights the historical and migratory ties between the Canary Islands and Venezuela.
