Lao Cai authorities investigate spoiled school meals

Authorities in Lao Cai province are investigating reports of spoiled school meals provided to students in the Lao Cai and Cam Duong wards. On September 23, students at several school sites reported that their meals had unusual smells and tastes.

Local officials conducted inspections and confirmed that some meal portions, specifically at the Nguyen Du site of Le Van Tam Primary School, showed signs of spoilage. While the Chairman of the Lao Cai Ward People's Committee confirmed the presence of spoiled rice, he stated that no food poisoning incidents occurred and no students required medical intervention.

Sen Bien Restaurant has been identified as the provider of the meals in question. The business has reportedly acknowledged the issue and is reviewing its food supply processes. Meanwhile, Bac Cuong Primary School in Cam Duong ward is also monitoring student health following similar reports of unusual food odors and tastes.
