In Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Van Long Secondary School has faced urgent concerns regarding undercooked chicken, sour soup, and meat with ‘foul odors.’ Some parents reported students experiencing ‘allergic reactions or skin rashes’ following meals. Following a site visit to the food provider’s facility in Binh Tan Ward, parent representatives discovered that the business registration address did not match the actual cooking location, and the company reportedly refused to allow inspectors to enter the premises. In Lao Cai province, authorities investigated reports of spoiled meals in the Lao Cai and Cam Duong wards. On September 23, students at the Nguyen Du site of Le Van Tam Primary School reported unusual smells and tastes; officials confirmed the presence of spoiled rice. While the Chairman of the Lao Cai Ward People's Committee stated no food poisoning occurred, the provider, Sen Bien Restaurant, is reviewing its supply processes. Bac Cuong Primary School is also monitoring student health following similar reports. On October 8, at least 21 students at Chien Thang Primary and Secondary School in Thai Nguyen province were suspected of food poisoning, exhibiting symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. The meals were provided by VAS Group. The Thai Nguyen Department of Health has submitted food and water samples to the National Institute for Food Control for testing.
