L’Aquila announces major cultural season for late 2026

L’Aquila is set to host two major cultural events starting in October 2026.

I Solisti Aquilani will launch its MXC season (formerly Musica per la Città) from October 6, 2026, to May 26, 2027. The program features 17 high-profile musical appointments at the Auditorium del Parco, spanning four centuries of music from the Baroque era to the 20th century. The season includes performances by artists such as Mario Brunello and Anna Tifu, alongside new commissions from contemporary Italian composers. The opening concert will feature the world premiere of ‘Piccola Suite nello stile antico’ by Marco Taralli.

Additionally, the eighth edition of the Festival delle Culture will run from October 5 to November 28, 2026. Organized by foreign residents in L’Aquila with support from the L’Aquila Film Festival, the event focuses on multiculturalism through international cinema and community meetings. The program includes film screenings from countries such as Brazil, India, Taiwan, Kazakhstan, Argentina, and Venezuela, with opening events featuring works by Walter Salles and Satyajit Ray.
