L'Aquila celebrates 2026 Culture Capital status with Philadelphia visit

L'Aquila, designated as the Italian Capital of Culture for 2026, will hold a series of cultural and gastronomic events in Philadelphia, United States, from October 21 to 24.

Mayor Pierluigi Biondi will visit the city to participate in initiatives organized by Gran Caffè L'Aquila in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Philadelphia. A key component of the visit includes an institutional meeting with Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker at City Hall on Friday, October 23.

The initiative aims to celebrate the historical and cultural ties between the Abruzzo region and the Italian-American community in Philadelphia, highlighting local excellence in food and history.
